Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar Comes To Myrtle Beach and Built by Consensus

By Megan Burke Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

Sports enthusiasts in Myrtle Beach will soon have a new spot to enjoy great food and great game day action! Walk-On's, an up and coming sports brand, is coming to the beach and bringing with it playful recipes and a fun atmosphere that’s sure to captivate visitors and locals alike.

Co-owned by NFL Quarterback, Drew Brees, Walk-On's fosters a true sports environment. The original founders, Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, were actual ‘walk-ons’ for the LSU Men’s Basketball team in 1997. The pair bonded over their love of sports and the love of the game that brings teammates and spectators together. Their interests slowly shifted from playing sports in college to building the ultimate sports viewing and dining experience for fans, which evolved into the Walk-On's we know and love today. Brees, who has been a resident Louisiana sports professional for almost 15 years, joined the team in 2015 to help support and grow the brand in new markets—and Myrtle Beach is next!

Walk-On's is anything but ‘just another sports bar.’ Rather, this innovative sports brand takes a refreshing approach to game day cuisine. Each dish is made from scratch in the kitchen and stays true to the brand’s roots with a distinctive Cajun flare.

Get started with an order of the famous boudin balls, fried alligator bites, or the ‘devils on horseback’, which are succulent gulf shrimp stuffed with cream cheese and pickled jalapenos, wrapped in bacon then lightly fried. Now that’s how you kick off a game!

The main menu offers a vast array of soups (including true Louisiana gumbo!), salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, seafood dishes, and more. For a true Cajun meal, try one of the signature po’boys, which comes with your choice of shrimp, oysters, catfish, crawfish, or alligator.

Big games often bring big groups, and Walk-On's offers a creative way to feed a crowd: party platters! More than just your average nugget platter, Walk-On's features an extensive party menu for groups. Options include jumbo portions of wings, dips, and sliders, po’boy and wrap platters, and even hearty entrees like ‘crawfish etouffee’ and ‘blackened blackened shrimp alfredeaux’. Whether you’re hosting the party, or you are chipping in with your favorite fans, the party platters at Walk-On's are a surefire way to please a crowd.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true game day celebration without a few tasty adult beverages, and Walk-On's offers a full selection of beer, wine, and signature cocktails. The ‘Death Valley’, which is named after the famous LSU football stadium, is a fan favorite with Svedka Vodka, Bayou Silver Rum, triple sec, Razzmatazz, orange juice, and pineapple juice. Other popular concoctions include the ‘Bench Warmer’ and the ‘Absolut Mule.’

This high-end, family friendly sports venue is sure to be a hit!

Full details on the Myrtle Beach location of Walk-On's is TBD—stay tuned for details!
